    Construction Conditions
    • 1 Base Surface: The concrete base surface should be cleaned, repaired flat, and polished to a certain roughness. Ensure that the concrete curing is completed, the strength reaches C25 or above, and the moisture content is less than 8%. After processing the base surface, the next process should be carried out as soon as possible.
    • 2 Temperature & Humidity: The environmental temperature at the construction site should be above 5 ℃, and construction can only be carried out when the relative humidity is less than 85%.
    • 3 Ventilation: Ventilation should be maintained during construction.
    Operation Methods and Requirements
    • 1 Mixing Ratio A:B = 1:1 (mass ratio) — Solvent is not allowed to be added. Before use, pour component B into a mixing bucket and add the same mass of component A by electronic weighing in proportion. Stir thoroughly for 2–3 minutes to prevent uneven mixing at the bottom of the bucket resulting in local non-solidification of the floor. Ready to use and prepare; the prepared polyurea coating should be used up within 15 minutes.
    • 2 During construction, first apply solvent-free epoxy anti-corrosion sealing primer. After the primer is completely cured, polish the area to ensure inter-layer adhesion. (Note: polishing floating dust must be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner.)
    • 3 After cleaning and polishing the floating dust, use solvent-free polyurea intermediate coating combination material mixed evenly in proportion. Pour this combination material onto the floor and scrape it evenly with a trowel (3 mm or 5 mm trowel can be selected according to thickness requirements). After 24 hours of curing, the next process can proceed. If the construction interval exceeds 48 hours, a layer of interface agent needs to be applied before construction can proceed.
    • 4 After curing, if encountering adverse weather such as rain, a layer of interface agent must be applied before proceeding to the next process.
    • 5 Under normal circumstances, the coating film should be cured for at least 7 days after completion of painting to ensure optimal performance of the paint film.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
QWhat is cold polyurea (YP683/YP685) and how does it differ from hot-spray polyurea?
ACold polyurea (YP683/YP685) is a two-component, 100% solid coating that cures at room temperature without the need for specialized high-temperature spray equipment. Unlike hot-spray polyurea, it can be applied using simple manual scraping or roller coating tools, making it more accessible and cost-effective for a wide range of projects.
QHow long does cold polyurea take to dry and fully cure?
AThe surface becomes dry in less than 4 hours and is fully dry within 24 hours under normal conditions. However, for optimal paint film performance, it is recommended to allow the coating to cure for at least 7 days after application before subjecting it to heavy use or traffic.
QWhat is the correct mixing ratio and how should I prepare the coating?
AThe mixing ratio is A:B = 1:1 by mass. Pour component B into a clean mixing bucket first, then add an equal mass of component A using an electronic scale. Stir thoroughly for 2–3 minutes to ensure a uniform mixture. The prepared coating must be used within 15 minutes — do not add any solvent.
QWhat are the substrate and environmental requirements before application?
AThe concrete substrate must be clean, flat, and polished to appropriate roughness. Concrete strength should be C25 or above, and moisture content must be below 8%. The ambient temperature should be above 5 ℃ and relative humidity below 85%. Adequate ventilation must be maintained throughout the construction process.
QIs cold polyurea environmentally friendly and safe to use indoors?
AYes. YP683/YP685 cold polyurea is 100% solid content with zero VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and contains no solvents or heavy metals. It is environmentally friendly and safe for use in indoor environments such as hospitals, schools, and dust-free workshops, provided proper ventilation is maintained during application.
QHow should cold polyurea coating be stored and what is the standard packaging?
AThe coating should be stored in a sealed container in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated location, away from direct sunlight, rain, and any sources of ignition or fire. The standard packaging is 20 kgs per drum, making it convenient for transport and on-site handling.
