Construction Conditions
📋 Base Surface Requirements
The concrete base surface should be cleaned, repaired flat, and polished to a certain roughness. Ensure that the concrete curing is completed, the strength reaches C25 or above, and the moisture content is less than 8%. After processing the base surface, the next process should be carried out as soon as possible.
🌡️ Environmental Temperature & Humidity Requirements
The construction environment temperature should be between 5–35 ℃, and the base surface temperature should be at least 5 ℃ higher than the air dew point temperature. The humidity range should be between 30% and 80%.
💨 Ventilation Conditions
Ventilation should be maintained during construction, but construction should not be carried out when there is strong wind.
Painting Methods and Requirements
Mix component B of the coating evenly before use.
Mixing Ratio A : B = 1 : 1 (Volume Ratio)
Professional construction teams must use professional spraying equipment for construction, and the material temperature during spraying should be controlled between 50–80 ℃. In general, the next process can be carried out after 12 hours of painting. If the construction interval exceeds 24 hours, a layer of interface agent needs to be applied before construction can proceed. If encountering adverse weather such as rain after coating, a layer of interface agent must be applied before proceeding to the next process. Under normal circumstances, the paint film should be cured for at least 7 days after completion of painting to ensure the best performance of the paint film.
Suggested Use QTY
- 1.2 kg/mm/m²
- Waterproof national standard thickness 1.5 mm — single square meter dosage: 1.8 kg
- Anti-corrosion national standard thickness 2.0 mm — dosage: 2.4 kg
Construction Steps
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q
What is the mixing ratio of SPUA II polyurea coating?
The mixing ratio of SPUA II polyurea coating is A:B = 1:1 by volume. It is important to thoroughly mix component B before combining with component A to ensure consistent performance.
Q
What is the recommended thickness for waterproofing and anti-corrosion applications?
For waterproofing applications, the national standard thickness is 1.5 mm with a dosage of 1.8 kg/m². For anti-corrosion applications, the national standard thickness is 2.0 mm with a dosage of 2.4 kg/m². The general usage rate is 1.2 kg/mm/m².
Q
What are the environmental conditions required during construction?
Construction should be carried out at an ambient temperature between 5–35 ℃. The base surface temperature must be at least 5 ℃ above the air dew point temperature. Relative humidity should be maintained between 30% and 80%. Adequate ventilation is required, and construction should be avoided in strong wind conditions.
Q
How long does the paint film need to cure before the next process can begin?
Under normal conditions, the next process can begin after 12 hours of painting. If the construction interval exceeds 24 hours, or if adverse weather such as rain occurs after coating, a layer of interface agent must be applied before proceeding. For optimal performance, the paint film should cure for at least 7 days after the final coat.
Q
Is SPUA II polyurea coating resistant to chemicals and water?
Yes. SPUA II demonstrates excellent chemical resistance. Test results show no change after 7 days immersion in 20% NaOH (alkaline) solution, no change after 7 days immersion in 10% HCL (acid) solution, and no change after 8 hours in boiling water. The coating does not contain harmful substances, and the cured paint film is non-toxic.
Q
What are the base surface requirements before applying SPUA II?
The concrete base surface must be cleaned, repaired flat, and polished to ensure adequate roughness. Concrete curing must be complete, with a strength of C25 or above and moisture content below 8%. After preparing the base surface, the coating process should begin as soon as possible to avoid contamination or moisture ingress.
